Most "free" online PDF tools upload your files to a server you've never heard of. That's not a tradeoff you should have to make for a routine task.
Every operation runs in your browser using local JavaScript. There is no upload step. There is no "processing on our servers." There is no server.
Install, activate with a license key, use it. Nothing to sign up for. Nothing to log in to.
After activation, the extension works on a plane, in a coffee shop with bad Wi-Fi, or behind a corporate firewall.
Tax forms, contracts, medical records, ID scans — exactly the documents you should never upload to a free web tool.
Pay once, use forever. No subscription. No upsell. No "Pro Plus Premium" tier waiting around the corner.
Short answers. No fluff.
Yes. The extension uses two libraries (pdf-lib and pdf.js) that run entirely in your browser. There is no upload endpoint anywhere in the code. You can verify this yourself in Chrome's network tab — you will see exactly zero requests when processing files.
One thing only: api.lemonsqueezy.com, and only when you activate or revalidate your license key. Your files are never part of those requests.
No. $29 is a one-time payment for a lifetime license. You will never see a renewal charge.
One device per license. If you change machines, you can deactivate the old one from the popup and activate the new one.
The extension keeps working. License revalidation is gracefully delayed for up to 7 days, so a flaky connection or a flight won't lock you out.
If you're processing a school worksheet, go for it. If you're processing a tax form, a contract, a medical bill, or anything with your name and a number on it — you probably should not be uploading that to a stranger's server in exchange for a "free" PDF merge.
Yes. Any Chromium-based browser that installs Chrome Web Store extensions.
